Last Updated: 27 July 2026 OnlyBills is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our app, including when receipt scanning, Live Split, and usage analytics use secure third-party cloud services.
Information We Collect
OnlyBills is designed with privacy in mind. We do not run our own accounts system and we do not collect personal information for advertising or profiling. The app accesses, with your permission: • Your device camera to scan receipts • Your photo library to import receipt images • Your contacts to help you split bills with friends Some features send data to secure third-party cloud services to work: • Receipt scanning uploads the receipt image to Google's Gemini API for analysis • Live Split stores the receipt's items, the display names people enter, and who claimed what in Google Firebase so guests can join and split in real time. Receipt images shared during Live Split may be stored in Firebase Storage. • Anonymous usage analytics are sent to Google Firebase Analytics — which screens you open, which onboarding steps you complete, whether a scan succeeded, and subscription events such as starting a trial. These are tied to a random app-install identifier, never to your name, email, or contacts, and no advertising identifier (IDFA) is collected. Receipt contents, item names, guest names, and payment handles are never included.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information only to make the app work: • Receipt images are sent to Google's Gemini API to read the items and prices, then returned to your device • During Live Split, the receipt items, the names guests enter, and their claims are stored in Google Firebase so everyone at the table can split the bill together in real time • Contact information is only used on your device to display names and photos when splitting bills • Your receipt history and settings are stored locally on your device using Apple's secure data storage • Anonymous usage analytics tell us which parts of the app people actually reach — for example how many people finish onboarding, or whether receipt scanning is failing — so we can fix what isn't working We do not: • Collect personal information for advertising or profiling • Collect an advertising identifier (IDFA) or track you across other apps and websites • Include receipt contents, guest names, or payment handles in analytics • Share your data with advertisers • Sell your information to third parties
Data Storage
Most of your data stays on your device, stored using Apple's secure frameworks: • Receipt history • Contact selections • Split calculations • Payment handles and user preferences Some data is stored off-device only when a feature needs it: • Receipt images are transmitted to Google's Gemini API for scanning and are not retained by us • When you start a Live Split, that bill's items, guest names, and claims are stored in Google Firebase for the life of the shared session so guests can join and update it. You can end and remove a live table from the app. • Anonymous usage analytics events are stored by Google Firebase Analytics under a random app-install identifier. Deleting the app resets that identifier.
Third-Party Services
OnlyBills uses Google cloud services to power three things: Google Gemini API (receipt scanning): receipt images are transmitted over an encrypted connection, analysed, and structured item data is returned to your device. Google Firebase (Live Split): when you share a bill, its items, the display names guests enter, and their claims are stored so everyone can split it in real time. Shared receipt images may be stored in Firebase Storage for the session. Google Firebase Analytics (product improvement): anonymous, aggregated usage events keyed to a random app-install identifier. No advertising identifier is collected and no receipt or contact data is included. All transfers use encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connections. Permissions
OnlyBills requests the following permissions: Camera Access: Required to scan receipts. You can deny this and manually enter receipts instead. Photo Library Access: Optional, allows you to import existing receipt images. Contacts Access: Optional, makes it easier to select friends when splitting bills. You can use the app without granting contacts access.
Data Security
We take data security seriously: • All local data is encrypted using Apple's secure data storage APIs • Network transmissions use industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS) • We follow Apple's security guidelines and best practices • No data is accessible to us or any third parties without your explicit action
Children's Privacy
OnlyBills is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with information, please contact us.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. Your continued use of the app after changes indicates acceptance of the updated policy.

Your Rights
You have complete control over your data: • You can delete all app data at any time through iOS Settings • You can revoke permissions at any time through iOS Settings • You can end a Live Split from the app, which removes that shared table • Deleting the app removes everything stored on your device and resets your anonymous analytics identifier • You can email osullivan7791@gmail.com to request deletion of any data held for a Live Split session
